SEAFORD, DE – Patient satisfaction is a high priority for Peninsula Home Care at Nanticoke (PHCN). The team’s diligence in consistently providing quality service to patients has not gone unnoticed. PHCN recently received the Superior Performer Award through the annual SHPBest™ program. Award recipients were determined by the review and ranking of the overall satisfaction score of more than 2,200 home health providers.
Awards are broken down into three categories:
- Best-of-the-Best – Best overall score in the SHP database
- Premier Performer – Providers that rank in the top 5%
- Superior Performer – Providers that rank in the top 20%
“I believe this award reflects the efforts our team makes every day to better communicate with each other,” said Beverly White, Peninsula Home Care at Nanticoke, branch director. “Whether in the office or in the field, they are looking at patient cases as a whole.”
The Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®) Home Health Care Survey, is sent to patients with questions designed to measure the experiences of people receiving home health care from Medicare-certified home health agencies. The 3 page satisfaction questionnaire targets all facets of home care.
Overall Care – Was your care handled in a professional manner?
Coordination of Care – Was the plan of care coordinated and communicated to the patient, other healthcare providers, caregivers and the family.
Education – Was the patient educated on their condition and how to manage it, including dietary information, medication management and proper wound care practices.
Team Consistency – Was the team treating the patient realistic about the outcomes, did they review the case and make necessary modifications?
Satisfaction – How satisfied was the patient with the services provided and outcomes of home care? How would the patient rate the services by outcomes? Would they recommend the agency to another or use them again if needed?
“Our team is committed to caring for patients but also dedicated to taking care of each other,” added White. “When we put the right people in the right places to cover patient loads, we have a well-orchestrated team providing quality care to our community.”
